To keep farmland productive, the spread of vascular diseases such as TR4 needs to be restricted. IntoSoil offers the global banana industry a solution for soil disinfestation and improving soil health. This solution is called “Soil Resetting”. It uses a process where the fungus is killed and the spreading of TR4 will be controlled and stopped.

How it Works

• The soil is enriched with plant-based granulate called Herbie. Then the soil is covered oxygen-tight.
• Herbie is a natural, rich food source for soil microbes. When adding this the microbes start growing rapidly and consume all the available oxygen in the soil. 
• Then anaerobic microbes start to grow and anaerobic fermentation takes place. 
• Secretion of gases and compounds results in dying off the pathogens that cause TR4. 
• After the oxygen tight barrier is removed, beneficial microbes in the soil start to grow. This improves nutrient uptake and results in increased crop yield.

We have several years of experience with this method of soil resetting and a proven track record for a wide range of crops, such as tomato, cucumber, lettuce and various cut flowers and flower bulbs. It is applied in a wide range of countries globally.
